My Mission
Hey there! I’m Roger Tsen, owner and founder of Tsenstional Fitness. My mission is to make fitness approachable and achievable for everyone by making the science behind diet and training principles known to all and dispel misinformation propagated by the health and fitness industry that is presented as help/advice but in reality sabotages your gains and development.
Who Am I?
With a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology and emphasis on Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, my scientific background complements practical experience acquired through training and coaching. In the almost one decade of being in the industry, I’ve coached everyone from celebrities, high net worth VIPs, regular office Jane & Joes, busy moms, teenagers, seniors, and Instagram models.
How do I work with such a wide spectrum? I can help anyone achieve their health, fitness, or physique goals because of my relentless application of scientific diet and training principles in fully personalized programs. Adherence to science and data instead of opinions will always give you predictable and consistent results–as certain as 2+2=4.
This was me in 2018 at the end of a bulking (weight gain) cycle and then the result of a 3.5 month cutting (fat loss) cycle. No fad diets, no magic fat loss supplements, just pure application of science.
Here’s a fresh-faced me in 2013 making minimal progress in building muscle over the next few years. Fast forward to 2018 after 2.5 years of applying proper diet, exercise, and programming science.
Cold science is only part of the equation, though. It takes communication, compassion, and care to really empower and transform a person’s body, mind, and life. Anyone can be the boot-camp drill Sergeant, but I’ve found it’s the confident soft- but-firm, encouraging touch instead of loud brute force that uplifts people and makes them do better. This is your journey, and I am but your guide. You don’t need me yelling at you the whole time.
The TSENsational Philosophy
1. Scientific diet/training principles—not fads or opinion—are the driving force behind any successful program.
2. ANYONE can achieve the body of their dreams.
3. No client is the same, and each case should be programmed for the unique individual’s goals, lifestyle, and ability.
4. Never stop learning so you hone and improve your craft. (I study every night.)
5. Dogma and fixed methodology yield limited results. By introducing aspects of physical therapy, bodybuilding, powerlifting, and other disciplines into my programs, I am able to produce incredible results and well-rounded athletes.
I consider it a win not only when my clients achieve their goals and set new ones, but also when I’m able to educate and show others scientific truths that they can use in their own training and to critically assess information from the plague of social media influencers offering nonsensical diet and fitness advice.
